Lebanese singer Najwa Karam will be a guest on the new show “5
Stars Channel” which is aired on Rotana music satellite channel
with famous host Hala Sarhan. Despite the disputes between
Najwa and producer of the show Lebanese Simone Asmar that have
been going on for the past five years, Simone had agreed to have
Karam on the show on one condition, that all arrangements for
the episode will be done without having him meet the singer.
Through an interview with “Al Jaras” (The Bell) magazine, Al
Asmar says that Karam had demanded some alterations with regards
to the show in order to accept her invitation as a guest. Al
Asmar was disturbed because he states that he doesn’t know who
is more important Najwa Karam or television.
Al Asmar went on to say that the show should not be changed
according to each guest’s needs, even though that many
alterations were actually made on episodes featuring Kathem El
Saher, Muhammad Abdoh and Nawal Al Zoghbi, all of who had
refused to go with the plan of the show unless their demands
were met. During Karam’s episode a duet between her and
Lebanese singer Melhim Barakat will be featured for the first
time. The duet is called “Belsanah” (During A Year) for the poet
Nizar Francis who also composed the song himself.
According to the London daily Elaph, Najwa was scheduled to
have a concert with Barakat at the Metropolitan Hotel in
Lebanon, but due to certain circumstances Barakat had to
postpone.
