Lebanese singer Najwa Karam’s new album is now
in stores, although it does not include a song composed by
Melhim Barakat.
For the past three months the two singers were
repeatedly featured in the news, particularly on the satellite
music channel ‘Rotana’ working on a new song together that
‘Rotana’ would eventually air, according to the Saudi daily Al
Hayat.
The song, titled “Ya Minmoot Kilna” (We Shall
All Die Together), was composed by Nizar Francis and Melhim
after the Israeli-Lebanese war last summer.
When the time came to record the new song,
produced by Sa’ed Al Marouq, Karam decided not include it in her
new album. Karam was unsure of the song and sources claim there
was a disagreement between Barakat and production company ‘Rotana.’
