The musical production company Rotana concluded its successful
multi concerts that were held on Carthage Historic Stage by a
concert for both singers Fadel Shaker and Amal Hijazi. The same
scene as Shireen and Hussein Al Jismi was repeated, where the
Roman stage was filled with fans that had to come in the early
hours to guarantee seats.
The concert was launched with Amal Hijazi’s voice; however, it
was hard not to notice that she was nervous when she met her
fans. Soon after she overcame her fear she asked a young man to
come up on stage and to start singing with her. They both sang
the duet “Ainak” (Your Eyes), which she had previously sang with
Moroccan singer Foduel.
According to the London daily Elaph, Amal started singing a
collection of her songs and her fans went wild while holding
huge posters for her that were distributed before the concert by
the production company Rotana.
The second part of the concert was for Lebanese singer Fadel
Shaker. Usually, before any singer gets up on stage they have a
short interview with the Tunisian TV host Farah Bin Rajab. Fadel
had requested not to hold any interviews with the media and
Rotana, who is said to never have turned down a request by
Fadel, had agreed with the management of the festival that no
journalists attempt to hold any form of interview with Fadel.
The management of the Festival respected his wishes, because he
still showed up even after the recent loss of his mother.
While he started singing a wave of clapping and screaming
began. Some fans had even fainted being overwhelmed with the
singer. Fadel didn’t turn down any of his fans requests to sing
the songs they asked for. He sang a song for the Legend Wardah
“Akthib Aleek”, and then he followed it with a number of his old
and new songs. Fadel promised his fans that there would be
another meeting soon.
