Aguilera has confirmed she is expecting her first child with
husband Jordan Bratman after months of speculation.
In the November issue of Glamour magazine, the singer, who has
been sporting a baby bump in recent months, revealed she was
expecting a child in the new year, the Daily Mail reports.
"That'll be about the time I enter into mommyhood, so I'm hoping
to have started a beautiful family with my husband," she said.
The 26-year-old said her husband is "thrilled" about the baby
and has been supportive.
"He's so supportive and amazing through everything. He came with
me on the last leg of the tour and he was my support system…I
gush. I'm a luckygirl," she said.
Aguilera married music executive Bratman, 30, in a lavish
ceremony in 2005 and said she wanted to balance motherhood with
her career.
"When you get married and have a teammate in life, you don't
have time for people around you that are just going to weigh you
down."
The former mouseketeer said she didn't want to waste her time on
drugs because she was focused on her future.
"You see all these horror stories about people that have died of
drug overdoses, people that have taken it too far and ruined
their lives, and for me, I had so many things that I had yet to
accomplish," she said.
Reflecting on the past, the sexy singer also said she had no
regrets about stripping down in her Dirrty video.
"I definitely stirred the pot a bit but I had fun. If it's under
the mark of respectability then it's prudish, if it's over the
mark, it's slutty," she said.
"That's really unfair, so I'm happy I've been able to express
myself and be on both sides," she said. "People have loved it,
hated it, been undecided and been empowered by it."
